7 Market Place in Corby Glen, Lincolnshire
Project Outline
This project concerned both the internal and external alteration of an already much-evolved, 16th century Grade II listed building (once a public house now a single dwelling) designated in 1986 and further located in the Corby Glen Conservation area.
Following on from a previously withdrawn application, necessitated by a lack of heritage justification, WS Heritage were then instructed to provide a Heritage Impact Assessment where proposals sought to rationalise available living space to achieve optimum viable use.
Here, the scheme included conversion of the attic; the alteration of internal planforms, layouts and staircase; the insertion of rooflights; the re-instatement of historic windows; the introduction of new fenestration; and, more general refurbishment including restorative works.
