Headley Hall in Headley, Surrey
Project Outline
Built in the early 19th century and a Grade II listed building designated in 1966, Headley Hall has since undergone considerable alteration. Amongst this change, its c.1955 subdivision into three separate dwellings not only effected considerable change to the fabric, planform and significance at the property, but severely restricted use, movement and associated flow throughout the original interior.
Proposals sought to restore the property as closely to its original state as possible whilst improving the site from a perspective of use and more general habitability. The application submitted on the 9th February 2024 therefore included a rear-infill extension – assisting circulation peripheral to the core – internal alterations and other, smaller-scale changes and remedial works to the exterior.
These included the full refurbishment of windows and doors, and the additional restoration of other external features such as the portico.
