22 Thornton Road in London SW12
Project Outline
Although not statutorily listed, the application site locates within the near setting of a Grade II listed building, and the Hyde Farm Conservation Area, designated in 1996. Proposals comprise the demolition of the existing detached dwelling, and its replacement with a five-storey block to provide nine new apartments. The proposed block will replace the 1960-70’s non-traditional building which is unsympathetic to the character and appearance of the immediate locale. The scheme seeks to provide a high-quality and contemporary design that is reflective of the surrounding locale in terms of its scale, with a distinctive, innovative, and attractive design that is authentically and legibly of its time.
