Built between 1922-25, the site is not statutorily listed but located within the Webb Estate and Upper Woodcote Village Conservation Area, designated in 1973. Following a refused application – due to ‘excessive additions’ – an appeal was submitted on 28^th June 2023.

Working closely with WS Planning & Architecture, WS Heritage supported proposals seeking to retain the core of the building, evolving the original period architecture in a referential manner, whilst improving the habitability of the property to meet modern living standards.

In order to maximise the potential to achieve permissions more generally, a further scheme – reduced in mass and scale but retaining a fundamental asymmetry in accordance with the property’s original Arts & Crafts ethos – was submitted in tandem with the appeal with a view to conjoining the two schemes at appeal stages should this be refused in addition.
