Gatton Park Conversion in Reigate , Surrey

Project Outline

Although none of the buildings across the application site are statutorily listed in their own right, this is located within the Grade II Registered Park & Garden comprising Lower Gatton Park – designated in 1998 – and within the near setting of a number of other listed structures.

In view of these constraints, proposals seek to implement a sympathetic, high-quality design in relation to the new stable block, tack room/machinery store and sand school; conversion of the main barn to residential use; and the removal of vacant, degraded structures that presently impinge negatively upon the historic environment of the locale.

Following the implementation of proposals, the fairly modest alteration of the landscape itself will ultimately enhance and preserve both the presently deteriorating application site and the settings of nearby heritage assets; fundamentally protecting the wider, designated Park & Garden.
