Hertfordshire House in Amersham, Buckinghamshire
Project Outline
The site is built during the 18th century and designated as a Grade II listed building in 1958. Proposals are divided into three applications: the access and hardstanding, the main house, and the secret garden.
Recent planning history demonstrates significant yet successful efforts to preserve the site and its built form, thus proposals seek to preserve the setting through appropriate design, by means of the development of a new driveway, roadways, path, and grass grid system to the north of the site to allow and aid easier access of vehicles. Application on its access and hardstanding was approved with conditions on 11th October 2023.
Existing windows and French doors of the main house can be seen deteriorated, hence proposals seek to replace these elements whilst the old glass panes will be retained for use where possible. Application was approved with conditions on 11th January 2024.
A ‘Lost Garden’ with a raised fountain is proposed to construct within the residential grounds, whilst materials will reflect the colours and texture of the listed building and would not affect the setting of the Manor House.
