Reigate Tunnel in Reigate, Surrey

The Reigate Tunnel is Grade II listed, designated in 1989, and located within the Reigate Conservation Area designated in 1973. Built in 1823, 2023 was the 200th anniversary of the tunnel. As such, to celebrate and commemorate the oldest road tunnel in the United Kingdom whilst simultaneously celebrating its geological and historical sense of importance, Reigate Business Guild had instructed WS Heritage and Planning team to install a 200th anniversary plague in navy blue and white coloured circular on the western elevation retaining wall located to the southern entrance of Tunnel Road.
