Dating to 1910, the site is neither statutorily listed nor located in a conservation area but recognised by the local authority as a locally listed building.

Following the refusal of an application in January 2023 for the replacement of all windows across the front elevation of the school, WS Heritage appealed the refusal on the basis that proposals would in fact preserve the locally listed building in a manner proportionate to both its limited significance and compromised state of repair.

In this respect, no level of harm was identified, although ‘public benefit’ as a matter of design and sustainability, was.
