Whitefriars School in Harrow

Project Outline

Designed in 1910, the site is neither statutorily listed nor located in a conservation area, but recognised by the Local Planning Authority as a locally listed building. This project follows a previous refused application dated 9th January 2023, regarding the installation of all replacement windows across the front elevation. WS Heritage was instructed to submit an appeal regarding this matter, addressing the concerns raised by the Council which stated the proposal would in fact preserve the locally listed building with which no special interest resides, by means of the reflective design with double-glazed. No level of harm has been identified by the scheme, whereas it accords with ‘public benefit’ and is of a high-quality design.
